Easy Trip is a new pilot program offered to select King County Metro Health Through Housing communities. Qualified residents can receive monthly funds for transportation purchases on a prepaid card.

This card is issued by Sunrise Banks N.A., Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Mastercard International Incorporated. Mastercard is a registered trademark, and the circles design is a trademark of Mastercard International Incorporated. This card may be used everywhere Debit Mastercard is accepted. Use of this card constitutes acceptance of the terms and conditions stated in the Cardholder Agreement.

How do I get a card?

Easy Trip is being provided on a pilot basis at select supportive housing sites throughout King County. If you are unsure whether you are eligible to receive an Easy Trip card, reach out to site staff.

Find a safe place to store your card

Keep your card secure. Your card is intended for your use only. Funds will remain in your account until the expiration date shown on the back of your card.

Use your card to pay for eligible transportation purchases like public transportation, shared bicycle or scooter rides, and Uber or Lyft —the choice is yours!*

*Please note that your Easy Trip card will only be accepted for eligible transportation expenses. See the full list of eligible purchases here, or in your Easy Trip Guide booklet.

Card replacements
  • Order a replacement card here .
  • When you receive your new card, you will need to activate it by following the steps on the card
  • Important: Cards reported as lost or stolen will be immediately deactivated and will be replaced if applicable.

Know before you go
  • Once you receive your card, $50 will be added to your account on the first business day of each month
  • Any unused balance will carry over from the month before.
  • You will receive $50 per month through the end of 2025.
  • You can use your card through the expiration date printed on the back of the card.

Use your card to pay for public transportation online , at ORCA vending machines, or at in-person customer service centers. You can also pay for Puget Sound regional public transportation with an ORCA card. Purchase and reload your ORCA card

You may qualify for a Reduced Fare ORCA card. Find out if you qualify for one of the different types and apply here . Once you receive your Reduced Fare ORCA card, you can load it with funds from your Easy Trip card. Contact your site's Community Transportation Navigator for more information and assistance.

Buy paper transit tickets

Buy paper tickets at pay stations, located at Link Light Rail, Sounder, and Seattle Streetcar stations. Find more information here .

Use your Easy Trip card to purchase transit tickets on your phone with the Transit GO Ticket app. Find out more information here .

Online Purchases

You can use your Easy Trip card just like a debit card for online purchases. For online purchases, you will usually need the following information:

  1. Your 16-digit card number
  2. VV/CVC (3-digit number on the back of the card)
  3. Card expiration date (month and year)

When making online purchases, you will be asked for your billing address and shipping address. Here is an example:

Note: For the shipping address, be sure to include your apartment or mailbox number.

Bike Shop Purchases

Use your card to buy or rent a bicycle, pay for service or repairs, or to purchase bicycle equipment (helmet, lock, lights, etc.). Your card will only work at verified bike shops and will not work at sporting goods shops or general retail stores that also sell bicycle equipment (for example, Target, REI, Amazon, etc.). As long as your Easy Trip card has enough funds available, you can make any purchase at a verified bike shop.

Train Tickets

Use your Easy Trip card to purchase Amtrak or Sounder tickets online or at train stations.

Buy Amtrak tickets online or at an Amtrak station ticket counter.

Sound Transit logo

Buy Sounder tickets at Sounder station ticket machines. You can also pay for Sounder tickets with funds on an ORCA card or with the Transit GO Ticket App.

Interstate and Charter Bus Tickets

Use your Easy Trip card to purchase Greyhound bus tickets online or at the Seattle Bus Station ticket counter.

Flix bus logo

FlixBus is similar to Greyhound and offers bus rides to major cities in the US and Canada. Use your Easy Trip card to purchase FlixBus tickets online or at the Seattle Bus Station ticket counter.

Ferry Tickets

Use your card online or at WA State Ferry terminal ticket counters to purchase WA State or Kitsap Transit ferry tickets. You can also pay for ferry rides with funds on an ORCA card.

Taxicabs

Use your card to pay for taxi fare. Ask your driver for the approximate ride cost. Make sure that you have enough balance to pay for the trip and a tip for your driver.

E-scooters and E-bikes

Sign in or set up your account in the Lime app using your phone number or email address.

Add your payment info. Select "Credit card" and enter your Easy Trip card number, card expiration date, CVV number (3-digit code on the back of the card) and your site's zip code.

Ride With a Smartphone

Sign in or set up an account in the Bird app.

Select Payment under Menu on the home screen.

Select the amount you want to add to your account. Be sure to set Auto Reload to OFF.

Select "Credit card" and enter your Easy Trip card number, card expiration date, CVV number (3-digit code on the back of the card) and your site's zip code.

Tap PAY to confirm your purchase.

Ride Without a Smartphone

Email [email protected] to enroll in the text-to-ride option with Bird.

Once added to the program, you can text to start a ride.

Uber and Lyft

You can use your card as a regular payment method on Uber and Lyft. Follow the steps below to pay for rides. You must first download the Uber or Lyft app and set up your account.

Tap "Wallet," then "Add Payment Method."

Select "Credit or Debit Card" and enter your Easy Trip card information. Tap "Save."

Go back to the main screen, enter your destination in the app and reserve a ride.

Tap "You" on the bottom right corner of the screen.

Tap "Payment," then "Add Payment Method."

Select "Credit or debit card" and enter your Easy Trip card information. Tap "Save."

Stolen card or unauthorized purchases?

What should I do if I lose my card?

Report your card as missing and order a replacement by using the form below.

Important: Lost or stolen cards will be deactivated immediately. To activate your new card, call Usio at 1-855-925-4626.

How can I check my account balance?

To check your account balance, call the number 1-855-925-4626 (also shown on the back of your Easy Trip card), or visit Akimbo online: AkimboCard.com .

How can I find out if I'm eligible to receive an Easy Trip card?

Confirm if you live within one of the eligible Health Through Housing or DCHS sites.

Reach out to your housing site staff to enroll in the program through your residence.
